Training Uniforms

Students Training Uniform

The Black Crane Kung Fu Schools uniforms works on the basis of three colours, red, black and white. The white represents the students, the black represents the senior students and instructors and the red represents the blood of the school being the teacher or the master of the school. This school has three training uniforms, a students training uniform, senior students and instructors training uniform.

The students training uniform consists of black pants and school T shirt with a coloured sash depicting the student’s grade.

The school badge is worn on the front of the training uniform for the Senior students and Instructors. This is worn on the left-hand side of the uniform and traditionally covers the heart. In ancient times this was meant to protect the student from harm.

Senior students achieving a high standard during their grading are permitted to wear a single red stripe directly below the first grade on their sash.

Instructors Training Uniforms

The instructor’s uniform within the Black Crane Kung Fu Schools is a Tai Chi uniform consisting of a black jacket with black buttons, white cuffs and white collar. The embroidered school badge is displayed on the front left hand side of the uniform, which traditionally covers the heart.

Instructors wear a black sash around the waist underneath the Tai Chi jacket. The instructors sash displays their grades, with the number of white stripes corresponding to the instructor’s grade. Instructors achieving a high standard during their grading are permitted to wear a single red stripe directly below the first grade on their sash.

The instructor’s uniform displays both the position the instructors hold within the school as well as their grades. The Kwoon instructors’ position is depicted by a 5cm white stripe that runs down the outside of the instructors’ pants.

Ceremonial Uniforms

The ceremonial uniform of the Sifu and Master has red cuffs, with a red sash worn around the waist under the Tai Chi jacket, both of which traditionally depict the blood of the school.
